Equipment List

Canon 40D
This camera has served me very well.

Tamron 90
Love my 90. It’s clear, bright, and has become my favourite walk around lens. It’s also what I use for studio work, giving me a little distance and great depth of field control.

Tamron 28-75
I would love this lens more if it weren’t in need of servicing. There’s stuff trapped inside, and a chip in the UV filter I keep on it for protection. But even with those strikes against it, I still like the lens.

Canon Speedlight 580EX II flash
I’ve avoided flash photography since the 1980s, but am gradually making peace with my nemesis.

Panasonic Lumix DMC Lx-5
This is a fantastic pocketable camera. As much as I love my Canon 40D, there’s no way I can take it with me when I’m performing in a parade, and it’s cumbersome in other circumstances, too. Plus, it doesn’t record video. The LX-5 has just what I need for taking high quality photos (RAW) and pretty good video, too.

LowePro Slingshot 100 Sling
This bag is fantastic. I prefer to bring what I need and leave the rest at home, so this is small enough that it can’t be over-filled and never gets too heavy. It’s very comfortable to wear for long periods of time, great for hiking, and very well designed for usability. I love how it pulls around to the front and becomes an easy to access bag for changing out equipment.
