The first of what will hopefully become an annual tradition for the Company of Fifers and Drummers, in Ivoryton, Ct, this holiday concert featured music arranged and performed by members of the fife & drum community. The musicians who participated are members of a number of fife & drum corps, but are featured in the program as representing the CT Patriots and Ameri-Clique. For those of you who are not familiar with what we do, the music attributed to CT Patriots is played mostly on fifes and rope tensioned drums. The music played by Ameri-Clique is played on a type of piccolo. The singing and brass are provided mostly by the very talented Mason family; Don, Paul, Maureen, Brendan, Colin, and Peter (in no particular order!). Other musicians also participated on certain numbers. Throughout the evening, Ancient Mariner Chanteyman Kevin Brown’s readings from A Christmas Carol were enjoyed. Thank you Molly for manning (woman-ing?) the audio recorder!
